Nathaniel Mitrik is a student studying Medical Product Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, working towards a career in medical product design and manufacture. Nathaniel believes that bioengineering will soon catalyze a revolution of change for humanity similar in scope to the advent of the internet. Nathaniel intends to be a part of that revolution, guiding it to embrace scientific reasoning, as well as moral and ethical guidelines. Doing this will ensure a safe and responsible societal shift during the revolution of what science and engineering can accomplish in the human body.

Nathaniel is pursuing a position in the engineering industry as he continues his education. He hopes that this will guide him closer toward happiness and his passions. Nathaniel has worked with the University of Pittsburgh School of Rehabilitation Science and Technology and has research and development experience with mechatronic systems. Nathaniel believes that a world enabled and improved by medical products is within reach – he hopes to be the one who designs the product that grasps this future and pulls it into reality.

Nathaniel completed his undergraduate degree in Spring of 2022, majoring in Bioengineering (Medical Product Engineering). In addition, he received a minor in Mechanical Engineering and a certificate in Innovation, Product Design, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering. Nathaniel is an EAGr student through which he is actively completing his graduate studies receiving a Professional Masters in Medical Product Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He will graduate from this program in the Spring of 2023, and plans to enter into the medical product industry.
